Davina was a 2002 mare by the famous black stallion Don Frederico (Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2012), himself the son of the great Donnerhall. She was bred by the late Mrs Kirby, a name synonymous with Hanoverian breeding for many years.
Her mother, the elite Hanoverian mare Liberty, was twice the champion mare at the British Hanoverian Horse Society Annual Show. She produced the stunning stallion Donnatello, and an array of broodmares now being used to improve warmblood lines throughout the UK and France. Liberty's sire Laurie's Crusador is thought of by many to be one of the most important thoroughbreds responsible for a new athletic line of Hanoverian horses.
In 2009, two of Davina’s progeny were presented at the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Futurity, and both gained first premiums. This was followed in 2010 with Briarwood Dolce Latte also receiving a first premium. As a result of this, along with the success of her 2013 foal, Davina held four Broodmare Diplomas from the BEF.
Davina was graded with both the Warmblood Breeders’ Studbook (UK) and the British Hanoverian Horse Society

On 6th May 2019, her 17th birthday, Davina gave birth to a bay colt by the young stallion Escamillo.

Sadly we lost Davina in February 2022. She has left a big hole in our herd and our hearts.
