Briarwood Wild Beauty
Ella was born on 9th June 2011, a first foal for Petrushka (Pascal x Ramires), our Elite Hanoverian mare. A very dainty filly by the superb British bred stallion Woodlander Wavavoom, Ella has so much personality and good, straight movement.

In August 2011, Ella went to her first outing, the BEF Futurity at Crofton Manor. From day one, this filly has taken everything in her stride, and bathing and plaiting were no exception. Standing like a rock, she seemed to enjoy the attention and loaded into the lorry with only a moment of hesitation.
Her bubbly personality shone through at the evaluation and she thrived on being given the chance to show herself off in the arena. We were delighted with her final score of 8.86, the Reserve High Score in the dressage foal category.

After a visit from Ted Green from the BHHS, Ella qualified for the Annual Show with a very good score. She thoroughly enjoyed her outing and was placed in a very strong filly class. Petrushka also collected her Elite award at the show.

In January 2013, we very nearly lost Ella to a rare form of anaemia. It was touch and go for a few weeks and without the generosity of a local lady, donating her cob's blood, and the actions of our vet Claire, going well beyond the call of duty, Ella would not be with us today.

After being backed by a good friend, Ella found a new home in 2016. In 2017 we were offered the opportunity to have Ella back and we jumped at the chance.

Ella was then based with Charlotte Martin Equine Services and qualified for the Winter Regionals in just two outings. We could not be more thrilled with how this little mare is turning out, and can’t thank Charlotte and her family enough for accompanying Ella on her dressage journey.

The BD Regionals was a huge success for Charlotte and Ella; 9th and 13th in Preliminary and Novice respectively, and then becoming Regional Champions in the Novice Silver Freestyle, qualifying for the Winter Championships at Hartpury in April.

After competing a the Winters, Ella moved up a level to Elementary. She swiftly qualified for the Area Festivals at this level and then surpassed all expectations by going out at Medium and winning all the classes she entered. This incredible record resulted in qualification for the Areas at Medium too.

In January 2021, Ella returned to Briarwood Stud, where she quickly succeeding in wrapping us all around her hoof! We were delighted when she scanned in foal to Samaii for her first foal, Bruno, who was born in June 2022.
