Briarwood Freude
Freya is a 2009 bay filly out of Davina (Don Frederico x Lauries Crusador) and by the Hanoverian stallion Fontainebleau and the first horse to have the Briarwood prefix.

We chose Fontainebleau as he was a stallion that we had met, and seemed to compliment Davina particularly well. Fontainebleau was by the stallion Wanderer, who is also the sire of Active Walero, a horse that represented Great Britain in the 2004 Olympics. His dam sire is Wenzel I, who was the leading dressage sire in 1997 and 1998 and producer of dressage horses at the highest level.

Freya’s first outing was to the BHHS Grading at Alvescot Stud in August 2009. We were delighted when her dam graded with the highest score of the day. Emulating her mother’s success, Freya went on to qualify for the BHHS Championship Foal Show, also with the highest score of the day.

The BEF Futurity Evaluation at Solihull Equestrian Centre was Freya’s next show, where she received a First Premium in the dressage section.

Finally, Freya went to the BHHS Championship Show at Addington Manor in September 2009. It was a very long day, but throughout Freya behaved like a pro, and we could not have been more pleased with her.

Freya was sold to a wonderful new home in 2013. She is thriving with her owner Lizzie and we were delighted to go and watch her compete at the Trailblazers Dressage Championships at Stoneleigh in July 2018.
